KαSAM - 2024

Kathmandu symposia on Advanced Materials (KαSAM), an initiative of Nepal Polymer Institute (NPI), a bi-annual series of international conference the motto Cross-Linking Science and Virtues undertaken to establish and strengthen the networking and collaborations between materials scientists from South Asian Countries with those from the rest of the globe. The objective of KαSAM is to provide a platform for discussion and share knowledge and ideas for the materials scientists on recent advances, challenges and opportunities in Materials Science and Engineering (MSE). Polymeric Nanomaterials will be the integral part of KαSAM endeavors. 

The previous KαSAM series were held in 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018 in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Kathmandu, Nepal, respectively. The 5th international conference KαSAM-2024 will be organized on October 22-24, 2024 in Kathmandu, Nepal. It will focus on nanostructured advanced materials, smart functional materials and circular economy, providing with a scientific platform for the scholars from academia and industries. The scientific program of the conference will comprise Keynote Lectures (KL), Invited Lectures (IL), oral and poster sessions and panel discussions. The event will comprise a 1 day ‘Short Course’ on October 22, 2024. The short course is targeted to the students, young and early career scientists who will be offered with an overview of ‘Recent Advances in Smart and Functional Materials.’ 

The planned conference is hoped to be supportive for the promotion of scientific education and research activities in the field of Materials Science, Chemistry and Chemical Education in Nepal. They will be milestone to form a collaborative research network of Nepalese materials scientists with those across the globe. 

We would like to invite you to participate and contribute to the symposia, short course and panel discussions by delivering lecture and/or presenting posters or sharing ideas and knowledges in panel discussions during KαSAM-2024. We look forward to welcoming you in Kathmandu in October, 2024.
